NOTE: Temporary supplies are granted for construction purposes only. More Info
Hire a Licensed Electrical Contractor to install the meter can, switch and plug sockets that you will need.
When the installation has been completed, your electrical contractor will arrange for it to be inspected by the Building Control Department of the Ministry of Works. When it is approved, a certificate will be issued entitled, 'Temporary Supply of Electricity.' An approved Permit Number must be clearly indicated on the approved temporary document. NOTE: At no time should the temporary supply be connected to the permanent wiring of your building. Firstly, the permanent wiring may not have been inspected and approved. Secondly, you may overload the temporary supply. For these reasons, among others, the temporary supply would be subject to immediate disconnection. Required Documents:
NOTE: If the point at which you require the temporary supply is more than 60-feet from B.E.C.'s overhead lines or if a transformer is required, or if the area has underground cables, you will have to pay a Service Charge. In some cases, it is advisable to ask your electrical contractor to arrange for a permanent electricity supply to avoid additional costs. The security deposit for normal temporary supplies for small tools, etc., during construction is currently $50. New Connections Service Upgrades Reconnections Temporary Supplies Stop Service |
