If you need to have a supply reconnected at a house, building or apartment which was previously connected or which has a meter already, you should do the following:
In order for BEC to identify the account, you should find out the account number, the name of the previous occupant and/or the number of the meter for the premises. The meter number is located on the dial of the meter and usually begins with the letters X,S or SA.
Required Documents:
- A copy of the landlord authorisation form completed and signed.
- Some form of picture identification such as a valid passport or driver's license and your National Insurance Card. If the account is to be recorded in a company name, then you must bring a letter on the company's letterhead stationary, indicating that the company is accepting responsibility for the account, and Foreign Applicants.
In addition to the above items, the applicant, if unemployed, must provide a National Identification Number of his/her country (e.g. social security number etc.) instead of a National Insurance Card.
BEC will give you an invoice for the security deposit at this time.
NOTE: In cases where the premises have been disconnected for six months or longer, an inspection of the wiring is normally required in order to make sure that it is still safe to connect a supply. If an inspection is required by B.E.C., take the completed "Application for Supply of Electricity" form to the Building Control Department of The Ministry of Works and request an inspection of the wiring. If the wiring is approved, the inspector will issue you an "Electrical Installation Approval" certificate bearing an "Occupancy Certificate Exemption" stamp. You should then take this certificate to B.E.C.'s business office along with the completed "Application for Supply of Electricity" form and security deposit invoice, and pay the security deposit.

Obtain the meter number or the account number of the previous customer.
Bring the required documents to B.E.C.'s business office, and pay the security deposit.
Pay the Security Deposit.
