Submit a Damage Claim

File a Claim

You may file a claim for losses by filling out a claim form and by providing necessary documentation to support your claim. The form can be collected from one of our offices in New Providence, or at your local family island office. You may also download a claim form below to submit your claim and proofs:

Please be aware that BEC, like all other utilities, cannot guarantee continuity of service. Therefore, we will not be held responsible for damages caused by certain occurrences that are beyond our control. For example:

  • Acts of God like weather-related conditions (rain, wind, lightning etc.)
  • Animal contacts (birds, raccoons etc.)
  • Equipment failure due to normal wear and tear.
  • Damage to BEC equipment by others and acts of sabotage.
  • Accidental third party damage.

Claimants may complete the claim form and return it along with proofs of loss (i.e. photos, invoices, repair bills, estimates):

Please note that completing the claim form is not a guarantee of payment of compensation. Upon our receipt of the completed claim form and proofs of loss, we will investigate your claim. When the investigation is completed, you will be advised as to our position on your claim.
