The Adopt-a-School Program is a community outreach program that builds relationships and partnerships with schools near our principle sites. The Corporation's involvement ranges from assistance in educational activities, to awareness and safety initiatives as well as fun and social interaction.
The Mabel Walker and Naomi Blatch Primary Schools are the schools nearest our corporate headquarters on Blue Hill and Tucker Roads, and have been designated our 'adopted schools' for a number of years. Since the program's inception, our Blue Hills Power Station has adopted the S. C. McPherson Junior High School and our Clifton Pier Power Station has also adopted the Adelaide Primary School.
Our installations within the Family of Islands also play a major role in the development of their communities and many of them partner with the local schools where they are located.
During the Yuletide season each year, our adopted schools are invited to attend our Tree Lighting Ceremony on the front lawn at headquarters. The students participate by singing Christmas carols in the foyer of the administration building for the enjoyment of both staff and customers.
